Accountant (m/f/d) – Full‑Time | Hamburg (Hybrid: On‑Site Tue–Thu)

Your mission
Working hours: 40 hours/week (5‑day week)
Location: Hamburg‑Ottensen

We are looking for a reliable and detail‑oriented Accountant (m/f/d) to strengthen our Finance team in Hamburg. In this role, you will manage operational accounting processes, support compliance according to German GAAP (HGB), collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, and contribute to smooth month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
Our hybrid working model: Tuesday–Thursday in the office, with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.


Responsibilities


Bank & Treasury

  • Manage and reconcile EUR bank accounts and related AR/AP transactions
  • Support international payment and collection processes

E‑Commerce & Payment Reconciliation

  • Reconcile online transactions across various payment providers and marketplaces
  • Ensure accurate financial recording of all digital revenue streams

Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable

  • Process incoming invoices and prepare payment runs
  • Oversee dunning processes and handle customer refunds with full documentation

Travel & Expense Management

  • Review and process travel expenses and corporate credit card statements in line with company policy

General Accounting & Compliance

  • Support accruals, invoicing workflows, and fixed asset accounting
  • Assist in preparing VAT and tax documentation
  • Contribute to monthly and annual financial closing according to HGB

Teamwide Support & Back‑Up

  • Provide AP/AR support for additional bank accounts
  • Assist with cash handling and reconciliation
  • Offer transactional support to other Finance areas as needed
Your profile
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting, ideally in an internationally active company
  • Strong knowledge of HGB and VAT regulations
  • Confident using MS Office (especially Excel) and common accounting systems
  • Structured, precise working style and strong team orientation
  • Very good English language skills (written and spoken)
